Charley Horse, Sept 9 at Burt's Tiki Lounge! [01 Sep 2006|12:15pm]

polexxia
You guys know I don't usually pimp out shows nor act like a street team geek (I'm not even sure they have one, to be frank), but GODDAMN, it's CHARLEY HORSE (that band I'm always blathering about)!

Cover is $8 at the door (Tickets via Smiths are $7 in advance), Jett Black, Thunderfist, and Charlie Don't Surf are opening up. Gonna be a fuckin' kickASS time, so I expect to see y'all there!

Seriously, make it out--we always bitch that no one good ever comes to town, but a full club is not only the best way to get more bands to book here, but ALSO a good way to show support for indie labels and bands.

Think I'm bullshitting about a good time? Check out:

This is going to be an excellent show! Tickets are now available on 24tix.com.

Snog, hailing from the great continent of Australia, is the brainchild of DJ David Thrussell. Originally formed in 1988, they first hit the dance floors in 1992 with their classic electro hit, Corporate Slave, which combined elements of 90s electrodance with 70s funk and a strong anticapitalist message.

For their newest album, "Vs. The Faecal Juggernaut Of Mass Culture", they take you on a musical exploration through the problems effecting society through the exploitation of mass media and utilization of disinformation as directed by political initiatives. Interesting electronic sequences are complimented by intriguing lyrics and wrapped around varying beat structures to create Snog’s most accessible and well balanced album to date.

This is Snog's first appearance in Utah and will be playing with COP International recording artist, Carphax Files.

RHPS - Aftermath [10 Jul 2006|08:44am]

Well ROCKY went well

Pre-requisites:
  • 2 liter bottle of Malibu Rum & Vanilla Coke
  • - check
  • Full cast in costume
  • - check
  • Small army of trannys
  • - check
  • The Tower Theatre
  • - check

We finally got underway around midnight after having to prep the theatre with plastic runners, get the lights and sound balanced more or less and get the props setup for the show. We let the small army (around 100 ish people) into the theater after Zack had primed them up with dead baby jokes and patted them down (much to his amusement Im sure.. had to tell him not to take tips) and went ahead with the pre show. For those of you that haven't see the pre show before.. make sure you do in October. Its far too profane and twisted for general internet audience.

    Highlights:
  • MC Susan got things rolling and tossed back a full cup of beer ala frat guzzle

  • Our Magenta - Jen sang the parody song fabulously, was a blast

  • cirlce-sized the virgins

  • NIPPLE!

  • Had a toothpick (it was cinnamon Wayne)

  • Audience participation (the confetti was a bitch to cleanup, thanks guys)

  • New Eddie (Zack) did a great job!

  • We will be doing the full run of shows in October, complete with 6 weeks of full rehersal (YAY) so get your ass to the Tower in October and get a ticket for EVERY NIGHT!
